        "content": "<p>The Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (Komdigi) has\nconfirmed that monitoring and restoration of telecommunications networks\nis continuing in coordination with mobile operators following the 7.7\nmagnitude earthquake that struck the island of Flores in East Nusa\nTenggara (NTT) on Saturday, 15 August 2026.<\/p>\n<p>The NTT earthquake occurred at 05.58 WITA (04.58 WIB) with its\nepicentre northeast of Mbay, Nagekeo Regency. Based on monitoring by\nmobile operators through the dashboard monitoring system up to 07.00\nWIB, a total of 200 sites or BTS were identified as experiencing\ndisruption across 10 regencies and cities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA total of 16.35 percent of BTS in the identified affected areas are\nexperiencing disruption. Komdigi continues to monitor network conditions\nand coordinate directly with mobile operators to ensure disruptions can\nbe addressed promptly. The safety of personnel and public access to\ntelecommunications are the primary considerations in the inspection and\nrestoration process in the field,\u201d said Director General of Digital\nInfrastructure at Komdigi, Wayan Toni Supriyanto.<\/p>\n<p>From the interim monitoring results, three mobile\noperators\u2014Telkomsel, XLsmart, and Indosat\u2014have confirmed impacts on\ntheir networks in several areas.<\/p>\n<p>On the Telkomsel network, a number of BTS experienced disruption due\nto power supply interruptions in the areas affected by the NTT\nearthquake. XLsmart also reported service disruptions, particularly in\nareas close to the earthquake epicentre. Meanwhile, Indosat is still\nconducting intensive monitoring through its technical teams.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to power supply disruptions, coordination with mobile\noperators indicates damage to transmission networks as a result of the\nearthquake. Details of the telecommunications infrastructure conditions\nin each regency\/city are as follows:<\/p>\n<p>Sikka Regency: 51 sites\/BTS affected out of 192 existing BTS, or\n26.56 percent.<\/p>\n<p>Ende Regency: 31 sites\/BTS affected out of 118 existing BTS, or 26.27\npercent.<\/p>\n<p>East Flores Regency: 26 sites\/BTS affected out of 161 existing BTS,\nor 16.15 percent.<\/p>\n<p>Manggarai Regency: 22 sites\/BTS affected out of 150 existing BTS, or\n14.67 percent.<\/p>\n<p>West Manggarai Regency: 17 sites\/BTS affected out of 141 existing\nBTS, or 12.06 percent.<\/p>\n<p>East Manggarai Regency: 16 sites\/BTS affected out of 80 existing BTS,\nor 20 percent.<\/p>\n<p>Ngada Regency: 13 sites\/BTS affected out of 101 existing BTS, or\n12.87 percent.<\/p>\n<p>Nagekeo Regency: 11 sites\/BTS affected out of 73 existing BTS, or\n15.07 percent.<\/p>\n<p>Lembata Regency: 10 sites\/BTS affected out of 73 existing BTS, or\n13.70 percent.<\/p>\n<p>North Central Timor Regency: 3 sites\/BTS affected out of 134 existing\nBTS, or 2.24 percent.<\/p>",
