The Indonesian government plans to allocate nearly Rp 1 trillion in 2026 for the revitalisation of approximately 1,600 schools in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), a threefold increase from the Rp 453 billion provided in 2025. This initiative, announced by Deputy Minister of Basic and Secondary Education Fajar Riza Ul Haq, forms part of a broader national programme to upgrade 71,000 schools, with a focus on damaged facilities in remote 3T areas. The funding will also support the provision of interactive digital boards to enhance teaching in multiple classrooms per school, underscoring the Prabowo administration's commitment to improving educational infrastructure.

The number of school revitalisations, covering lightly, moderately,
and severely damaged facilities in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) province, is
confirmed to increase in 2026. The value will nearly reach Rp 1
trillion. This was affirmed by Deputy Minister of Basic and Secondary
Education (Wamendikdasmen) Fajar Riza Ul Haq during a visit to SMK
Kesuma Mataram.

Fajar stated that this year the government has allocated Rp 11.4
trillion for school revitalisation across Indonesia, from primary
schools (SD) and junior high schools (SMP) to vocational schools (SMK)
and senior high schools (SMA). “The funds will cover nearly 11,000
schools throughout Indonesia, including NTB,” Fajar said on Tuesday
(14/4/2026).

Specifically for NTB, Fajar mentioned that the number of school
revitalisations will be increased to around 1,600 schools. This figure
is claimed to be an increase from 2025 or triple the amount.

“Yes, last night I met with the Governor and we discussed this. He
hopes that the revitalisation assistance for NTB can be increased this
year,” he said.

For 2025, Fajar explained, NTB province only received revitalisation
assistance of Rp 452.99 billion for repairing buildings of SD, SMP, SMA,
and SMK. “Now this year, the amount is tripled. So it could reach nearly
Rp 1 trillion or more,” he emphasised.

Fajar assured that the central government’s commitment to supporting
educational development in NTB is clear. In addition to increasing
revitalisation funds, the number of interactive digital board aids will
also be increased.

“So not all schools will receive them, as it depends on the number of
learning groups in each school,” he said.

Based on President Prabowo’s instructions, Fajar stated that the
school revitalisation budget will be increased again for 60,000 schools
in Indonesia.

“Thus, hopefully this year there will be 71,000 schools revitalised.
Including schools damaged in 3T areas. So, our focus is also on
repairing schools in 3T areas,” Fajar said.

According to him, President Prabowo has also planned to provide
additional interactive digital boards (PID) for all schools that will
undergo revitalisation. Thus, one school could receive three interactive
digital boards per school.

“So they can be used by three learning groups simultaneously. The
hope is that in the future every school classroom can use digital
boards,” Fajar emphasised.
",
