        "content": "<p>Mataram (ANTARA) - The West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) provincial government\nis preparing a special People\u2019s Business Credit (KUR) scheme for\nprospective migrant workers from NTB, with an initial budget allocation\nof Rp10 billion.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe initial budget allocation is Rp10 billion, with the potential\nfor additions based on needs and programme developments,\u201d said the Head\nof the NTB Manpower and Transmigration Office, Aidy Furqon, in a\nstatement in Mataram on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Aidy explained that the KUR scheme for migrant workers from NTB is in\ncollaboration with Bank NTB Syariah, a regional-owned enterprise.<\/p>\n<p>The NTB government does not provide cash directly to migrant workers\napplying for business credit.<\/p>\n<p>The financing process is delivered in an integrated manner,\nencompassing recruitment, job training, social and health insurance,\nvisa and passport processing, and work permits.<\/p>\n<p>According to Aidy, the scheme is designed to ensure prospective\nmigrant workers receive protection from the initial departure stage and\nto minimise the potential for non-procedural practices, which have long\nbeen an issue.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey are not given cash. The financing is channelled through\nofficial recruitment and labour placement institutions,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, Aidy conveyed that the NTB government, together with\nBank NTB Syariah, is currently drafting regulations for the migrant\nworker KUR to provide a strong legal foundation before its official\nlaunch.<\/p>\n<p>The integrated financing scheme represents a strategic step by the\nNTB government in building a safer, more structured, and sustainable\ngovernance system for the placement of migrant workers.<\/p>\n<p>Based on data from the Indonesian Migrant Workers Protection Agency\n(BP3MI) for 2025, 25,062 residents of West Nusa Tenggara departed as\nlegal migrant workers.<\/p>\n<p>The largest contribution of migrant workers comes from East Lombok\nRegency with 12,029 people, followed by Central Lombok Regency with\n7,156 people, West Lombok Regency with 4,625 people, North Lombok\nRegency with 702 people, and the City of Mataram with 637 people.<\/p>\n<p>Malaysia is the primary destination country for the placement of\nmigrant workers from West Nusa Tenggara, with 23,685 people.<\/p>\n<p>From January to December 2025, the Central Statistics Agency recorded\nthe value of remittances or money transfers sent by migrant workers to\ntheir families in NTB at Rp221.46 billion.<\/p>",
