        "content": "<p>The head of the NTB Trade Office, Lalu Wiranata, said the program is\nan effort to increase local human resource capacity, as well as\nencourage the villages to develop independent export capabilities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have begun initial activities in May to June 2026,\u201d Wiranata said\nin Mataram on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>He explained the export village concept aims to strengthen downstream\nproduct processing to add value before being marketed abroad,\neliminating the need for villages to produce raw materials.<\/p>\n<p>Related news: Indonesia eyes role as global coffee hub<\/p>\n<p>One of the export villages being prepared is Sembalun in East Lombok\nDistrict, which produces Arabica coffee beans. Sembalun is being\nencouraged to create various coffee beans derivative products ready for\ninternational sale.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are encouraging the village to produce finished products. The\ncoffee is processed downstream and then we connect with buyers,\u201d\nWiranata added.<\/p>\n<p>In the early phase, the NTB Trade Office is partnering with\nconsultants from outside the region to provide guidance for communities\nand businesses in developing superior commodities to penetrate the\nexport market.<\/p>\n<p>Wiranata hopes the export village programme will produce skilled\nexporters capable of boosting sales of superior commodities and\nfostering village independence in the international trade chain.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re seeking external assistance initially.
