        "content": "<p>Mataram (ANTARA) - The West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Museum has begun\nsecuring various remaining artefacts to prevent their loss during the\nclearing of debris following the fire at Sade Traditional Hamlet,\nCentral Lombok Regency.<\/p>\n<p>Head of the NTB Museum Ahmad Nuralam said his team has visited the\nsite twice to inventory and secure objects of historical and cultural\nvalue.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have informed and sought permission from the hamlet chief and the\ntourism awareness group to collect several artefacts related to the\nfire,\u201d he said in Mataram on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>He said the fire not only destroyed traditional houses and residents\u2019\nhomes, but also caused the loss of various cultural objects, including\nweaving equipment more than 100 years old.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe collected quite a number of objects related to burnt weaving,\nhousehold utensils, rice, corn, winnowing trays, including the spout of\na kettle that was also burnt,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Sade Traditional Hamlet, which was established in the 16th century,\ncaught fire on Saturday (22\/8) at around 10.00 pm local time.<\/p>\n<p>Several eyewitnesses said the fire first appeared from one of the\nhouses in the middle of the traditional settlement.<\/p>\n<p>The flames then spread to a number of other houses, most of which\nwere built using flammable materials such as wood, bamboo and\nthatch.<\/p>\n<p>NTB Museum Cultural Officer Gusti Ayu Sri Astiti said her team\nsecured four pieces of woven cloth damaged by the fire during the\ninventory process two days ago.<\/p>\n<p>The motifs of the four woven cloths are subahnale, pucuk rebung,\ngeometric, and cerbon sasak.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe cerbong sasak motif is a weaving motif distinctive to Sade\nTraditional Hamlet. The motif symbolises mutual cooperation or\ntogetherness, as well as harmony,\u201d she said.<\/p>",
