The Provincial Government of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) has completed\nthe draft Governor Regulation (Pergub) to serve as the legal framework\nfor distributing the People\u2019s Business Credit (KUR) programme\nspecifically for Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI). The financing\nprogramme is scheduled to begin disbursement in the second half of\n2026.<\/p>\n
\"The regional government is just waiting for the finalisation of the\ndistribution mechanism from Bank NTB Syariah because the Pergub draft is\nalready finished,\" said Head of the NTB Manpower and Transmigration\nOffice (Disnakertrans) Aidy Furqon on Wednesday (17\/6\/2026).<\/p>\n
As an initial stimulus, the NTB provincial government has prepared a\nbudget of Rp 10 billion. This amount is projected to be increased if\nuptake of the programme in the field shows positive results. \"Yes, for\nthe initial stage, that amount has been prepared, Rp 10 billion. If it\nis successful, it will be topped up. The top-up pattern is as the\nGovernor said,\" Furqon explained.<\/p>\n
Once the distribution mechanism from the bank is finalised,\nDisnakertrans NTB will gather Indonesian Migrant Worker Placement\nCompanies (P3MI) to recruit prospective PMIs. \"We must partner with\nthem, because we cannot go directly to search for prospective workers,\"\nhe asserted.<\/p>\n
Furqon explained that the KUR PMI programme applies to all\ndestination countries, not just Malaysia. The financing ceiling is\nadjusted according to the destination country. \"The ceiling for Malaysia\nis Rp 80 million and for Japan it is Rp 70 million. Those going to Japan\nare mostly internship participants,\" he stated.<\/p>\n
Previously, Bank NTB Syariah\u2019s Financing Director Agus Suhendro\nrevealed that the high interest among NTB residents in working abroad\nwas the main reason behind the creation of the KUR PMI and internship\nscheme. Bank NTB Syariah has also mapped out the loan ceilings that\nprospective migrant workers from Bumi Gora can utilise.<\/p>\n
For PMIs in the formal sector, the financing ceiling ranges from Rp\n10 million to Rp 80 million. These funds can be used to cover passport\nprocessing, BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, training, medical check-ups, flight\ntickets, and work visas. Meanwhile, overseas internship participants can\nobtain financing of Rp 50 million to Rp 70 million per person. These\nfunds cover language training, accommodation, meals, insurance, and\ninternship visas.<\/p>\n
To mitigate the risk of non-performing loans due to failed\ndepartures, Bank NTB Syariah applies strict rules. KUR funds will only\nbe disbursed after the work visa or internship visa is officially\nissued. \"We understand the operational needs on the ground.
