        "content": "<p>Mataram (ANTARA) - The panel of judges at the Corruption Court at the\nMataram District Court has acquitted Hamdan Kasim, Chairman of\nCommission IV of the West Nusa Tenggara Provincial DPRD, in a gratuity\ncase.<\/p>\n<p>Presiding Judge Dewi Santini, in the verdict read at the Corruption\nCourt at the Mataram District Court on Wednesday evening, stated that\nHamdan, in his status as defendant, was not proven to have given money\nto three other NTB DPRD members as charged by the public prosecutor.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe defendant Hamdan Kasim is acquitted of all charges brought by\nthe public prosecutor,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>With this ruling, the panel of judges also requested that the\ndefendant\u2019s rights be restored.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe public prosecutor is ordered to restore the defendant\u2019s rights\nin terms of his capability, position, dignity and honour,\u201d she\nstated.<\/p>\n<p>In the verdict, the judge also ruled that evidence in the form of\nRp450 million in cash, previously seized by prosecutors from the\nhandover by other members, namely Harwoto, Lalu Irwan Satriadi and\nNurdin Marjuni, be returned to them.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, the public prosecutor had demanded that the judge\nsentence defendant Hamdan Kasim to 1 year and 6 months in prison.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the prosecutor also asked the judge to impose a fine of\nRp100 million on the legislator, with a subsidiary sentence of three\nmonths\u2019 confinement.<\/p>\n<p>The prosecutor made this demand by stating that the defendant\u2019s\nactions were proven to have involved giving money amounting to Rp450\nmillion to three other members, pursuant to Article 605 paragraph (1)\nletter a in conjunction with Article 127 paragraph (1) of Law of the\nRepublic of Indonesia Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code, in\nconjunction with Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 1 of 2026\nconcerning Penal Adjustments, and in conjunction with Article 18 of Law\nof the Republic of Indonesia Number 31 of 1999 concerning the\nEradication of Corruption.<\/p>",
