        "content": "<p>Not our security personnel<\/p>\n<p>With reference to the reports in The Jakarta Post of Aug. 20,<br>\n1998 and Sept. 25, 1998 on the demand aired by a number of<br>\nsecurity guards, herewith for and on behalf of and in the legal<br>\ninterest of PT JAYA READYMIX we deem it necessary to present the<br>\nfollowing refutation and response:<\/p>\n<p>1. PT JAYA READYMIX has never hired any security guards as<br>\nreferred to in the reports in The Jakarta Post.<\/p>\n<p>2. Since 1989 PT JAYA READYMIX has been cooperating with PT<br>\nGINDEJAYA PURNASEJATI for the assignment of security guards<br>\nwithin the business environment of PT JAYA READYMIX on the basis<br>\nof a cooperation agreement.<\/p>\n<p>3. On the basis of this cooperation agreement, none of these<br>\nsecurity guards are employees of PT JAYA READYMIX, but are the<br>\nemployees of PT GINDEJAYA PURNASEJATI.<\/p>\n<p>4. As an internal conflict in PT GINDEJAYA PURNASEJATI has<br>\naffected the supervision and placement of security guards and<br>\nalso the remittance of their salaries, PT JAYA READYMIX has<br>\ndecided not to renew the said cooperation agreement as from Aug.<br>\n31, 1998.<\/p>\n<p>5. The reports carried in the Post in connection with this<br>\nsecurity guard matter are not correct and do not conform with the<br>\nlegal facts and have been published without having been cross-<br>\nchecked with PT JAYA READYMIX, so that the reports give the<br>\nimpression that PT JAYA READYMIX has taken action in<br>\ncontradiction with the prevailing laws.<\/p>\n<p>6. The security guard matter is now being examined at the<br>\nMinistry of Manpower.<\/p>\n<p>7. To ensure that any news reports will be objective and<br>\nbalanced, PT JAYA READYMIX request that any news items concerning<br>\nthe security guard matter in PT JAYA READYMIX should be<br>\nreconfirmed with PT JAYA READYMIX.<\/p>\n<p>HERRY WIBOWO<\/p>\n<p>and GEORGE BERNHARD<\/p>\n<p>A.
