UBSI campus Jatiwaringin has run the Berbagi Nasi Box programme as a
form of strengthening students’ social character in the digital era. The
activity took place on campus at Jl Raya Jatiwaringin No.18,
Jaticempaka, Pondok Gede, Bekasi, from 23 February to 13 March 2026. The
nasi box distribution was conducted Monday to Friday during Ramadan,
initiated by Yayasan Bina Sarana Informatika, as a strategic effort to
nurture empathy and social care amid rapid technological transformation.
Ahmad Fauzi, Head of UBSI Jatiwaringin Campus, explained that sharing
nasi boxes is not merely a social act of giving food to the surrounding
community but part of character education for the academic community. He
stated that the success of higher education should be measured not only
by digital competence but also by the extent to which they benefit their
environment. He said UBSI Jatiwaringin is committed to delivering
high-quality activities as a Kampus Akreditasi Unggul (Excellent
Accreditation Campus). UBSI wants to prove that the first Digital
Creative campus in Indonesia continues to prioritise inclusive religious
values. ‘Quality education must be in harmony with real actions that
benefit the environment so that the blessings of knowledge can be felt
by all parties,’ Ahmad stressed in a statement in Jakarta on Saturday 7
March 2026. He added that the Ramadan discipline during the month trains
the younger generation’s mental discipline. In the face of the digital
era’s challenges that often encourage individualism, on‑campus real
actions serve as an important reminder of the need to balance
professional careers with social care. Tough character and high empathy,
he continued, will be highly valued by the future industry. ‘Through
this programme, each nasi box distributed is hoped to become a symbol of
warmth between academics and the surrounding middle-income community.’
Fauzi also encouraged students to continue innovating in technology
without forgetting social roots and civic responsibility. ‘The Ramadan
atmosphere on campus can foster a new spirit for students to achieve,
while also contributing tangibly to the nation’s development.’ As a
campus with Excellent Accreditation, UBSI Jatiwaringin reaffirms its
commitment to blending technological innovation with humanitarian
values. Through ongoing social initiatives such as Berbagi Nasi Box at
UBSI Jatiwaringin, the institution strengthens its role in producing
graduates who are not only digitally adept but also outstanding in
character and social concern.
",
