Jakarta \u2013 The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has disclosed\nthat it is not only Khalid Basalamah, owner of PT Zahra Oto Mandiri or\nUhud Tour and a Penyelenggara Ibadah Haji Khusus (PIHK), who has\nreturned funds in the case.<\/p>\n
KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo stated that several other PIHK\nentities have also reimbursed money related to the alleged corruption\ninvolving Hajj quotas to the KPK.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn the investigation of this alleged criminal corruption case\nrelated to Hajj quotas, the KPK has not only received the return of\nfunds from Mr KB, but also returns from other PIHK entities,\u201d Budi told\nreporters at the KPK\u2019s Red and White Building in South Jakarta on\nThursday, 23 April 2026.<\/p>\n
Nevertheless, Budi noted that there are still some PIHK that have not\nreturned the funds to the anti-corruption agency.<\/p>\n
\u201cAlthough there are still a number of other PIHK that have not\nreturned them,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
On that occasion, Budi also urged all Hajj associations or other PIHK\nto be cooperative in providing statements to KPK investigators and\nreturning the funds related to the Hajj quota case.<\/p>\n
\u201cTherefore, on this occasion, the KPK also urges other associations\nor PIHK to follow the witnesses who have already been cooperative in\nproviding statements and returning the funds from filling the Hajj\nquotas,\u201d Budi explained.<\/p>\n
Previously reported, Khalid Zeed Abdullah Basalamah, or Khalid\nBasalamah, owner of the Hajj travel agency PT Zahra Oto Mandiri or Uhud\nTour, completed examination as a witness in the Hajj quota corruption\ncase.<\/p>\n
Khalid Basalamah claimed he was examined in his capacity as chairman\nof a Hajj association.<\/p>\n
\u201cI was called as a witness, called in my capacity as Chairman of the\nMutiara Hajj Association,\u201d Khalid told reporters at the KPK\u2019s Red and\nWhite Building in South Jakarta on Thursday, 23 April 2026.<\/p>\n
He also admitted to having returned funds amounting to Rp8.4 billion\nto the KPK related to this case.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo PT Muhibbah returned the funds to us, we didn\u2019t know what the\nmoney was for. The amount was around Rp8.4 billion or so. It was\nreturned,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, Khalid clarified that the funds were returned from PT\nMuhibbah, the party that offered Hajj departures to Khalid\u2019s travel\nagency.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd when it was returned to us, we weren\u2019t told what the money was.\nThe money was just given.
