        "content": "<p>JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Not all workers are working from home (WFH)\nevery Friday under the central government\u2019s initiative to save energy.\nThey must continue to serve the public.<\/p>\n<p>One ministry employee, Reyno (not his real name, 28), feels envious\nof not getting the chance to WFH every Friday, as he is tasked with\naccompanying a certain official in all daily activities.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, when coming to the office every Friday, he feels\nuncomfortable because he has to endure the heat while working.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe office AC facilities are turned off, making it hot and\nuncomfortable,\u201d he said when contacted by Kompas.com on Monday\n(11\/5\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, every Friday, this Gen Z individual has no choice but to\nendure the hot workroom, as he must stay in the room while the official\nhe accompanies has no activities outside the office.<\/p>\n<p>However, behind the uncomfortable office conditions, Reyno sees the\npositive side of Friday WFH as making the roads less congested than\nusual.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen it\u2019s WFH Friday, the roads are empty or not jammed,\u201d he\nsaid.<\/p>\n<p>This Gen Z individual only needs about 45 to 60 minutes from his home\nin Cijantung, East Jakarta, to his office in the Gambir area, Central\nJakarta.<\/p>\n<p>Reyno does not feel burdened by additional work, even though many of\nhis colleagues are WFH.<\/p>\n<p>The Head of the Dukcapil Sector for Kemayoran Subdistrict, Central\nJakarta, Ismawati (41), is also one of the civil servants who does not\nget the Friday WFH quota.<\/p>\n<p>This is because she is trying to comply with the Governor of DKI\u2019s\nCircular Letter number 3\/SE\/2026 on transforming work culture through\nadjustments to the implementation of civil servants\u2019 official duties,\none of which is the implementation of WFH, which is excluded for work\nunits that provide population services.<\/p>\n<p>With the existence of this circular letter, all Dukcapil employees in\nJakarta do not WFH and continue to provide services as usual every\nFriday.<\/p>\n<p>Even though they have to come in every Friday, Ismawati claims she\nhas no problem and is not envious of other civil servants who get the\nWFH opportunity.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf it\u2019s said to be envious, it\u2019s more about understanding the\ndifferences in conditions or job functions. Every assignment is already\narranged according to needs, so we support each other to ensure that\nwork and services to the public continue to run well,\u201d Ismawati said\nwhen interviewed by Kompas.com on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>She instead strives to ensure that the public remains well-served,\neven with the Friday WFH policy.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, Friday WFH is also considered not to add much\nworkload for civil servants who come in, as it is already divided\naccording to each person\u2019s job functions.<\/p>\n<p>Between civil servants, whether working from home or in the office,\nthey help each other if there are things that need coordination.<\/p>",
