        "content": "<p>Northwest, MAS sign accord<\/p>\n<p>MINNEAPOLIS (AFP): Northwest Airlines and Malaysia Airlines on<br>\nThursday announced a marketing alliance that will enable them to<br>\ncoordinate schedules and reservations between their two flight<br>\nnetworks.<\/p>\n<p>Northwest also said it plans to inaugurate service to Kuala<br>\nLumpur on Feb. 25, operating flights three times a week from<br>\nDetroit via Osaka and becoming the only U.S. airline to serve<br>\nMalaysia.<\/p>\n<p>Malaysian Airlines currently operates flights between Los<br>\nAngeles and Kuala Lumpur and between Newark, New Jersey and Kuala<br>\nLumpur.<\/p>\n<p>A memorandum of understanding between the two carriers<br>\nprovides for joint marketing and sales programs, coordinated<br>\nscheduling and code-sharing.<\/p>\n<p>Through code-sharing passengers can travel under a single<br>\nflight code one more than one airline on different portions of a<br>\nflight.<\/p>",
