Semarang (ANTARA) - The journeys of several trains on the northern\nJava route in Central Java were disrupted by flooding that submerged two\nbridges between Gubug, Tegowanu and Brumbung stations in the Grobogan\nRegency area of Central Java on Monday.<\/p>\n
PT KAI Daop 4 Semarang Public Relations Manager Luqman Arif said the\noperating patterns of several trains were forced to be rerouted via the\nBrumbung - Gundih - Gambringan line.<\/p>\n
He explained that the route had been temporarily closed since 04.35\nWestern Indonesian Time as floodwaters had already covered the tracks.\n\u201cTo ensure travel safety, the route has been temporarily closed,\u201d Luqman\nsaid in a press statement.<\/p>\n
The two flood-affected bridges, he continued, were Bridge 46 on the\ntrack section between Tegowanu Station and Brumbung Station, and Bridge\n59 on the section between Gubug Station and Tegowanu Station.<\/p>\n
Three trains had their journeys rerouted, including the Gumarang\nservice on the Jakarta - Surabaya route, the Jayabaya service on the\nJakarta - Malang route, and the Harina service on the Bandung - Surabaya\nroute.<\/p>\n
He said officers were continuing to monitor developments regarding\nthe condition of the flooded rail tracks so that the latest information\ncould be communicated promptly.<\/p>\n
He added that PT KAI wished to convey its apologies for the\ninconvenience experienced by passengers as a result of the travel\ndisruption.<\/p>\n
