North Sumatra\nGovernor Bobby Nasution said on Tuesday that the forum would bring\ntogether governors from across Sumatra, investors, and various\nstakeholders to discuss strengthening regional investment. According to\nBobby, Sumatra has enormous economic potential that must be managed in\nan integrated manner so that it can become one of the drivers of the\nnational economy. He expressed hope that BI Investment Day would\nencourage a more evenly distributed flow of investment across all\nregions of Sumatra, ensuring that the economic benefits are not felt by\njust one area. In addition to discussing regional investment promotion,\nthe forum will also strengthen synergy between the North Sumatra\nProvincial Government and Bank Indonesia, including in promoting ease of\ndoing business, strengthening micro, small, and medium enterprises\n(MSMEs), and accelerating the electronification of local government\ntransactions. Based on data from the Central Statistics Agency,\nSumatra\u2019s economy grew by 4.81 percent in 2025, contributing around\n22.22 percent to the national gross domestic product (GDP). Head of the\nBank Indonesia Representative Office for North Sumatra, Ameriza M.\nMoesa, said BI Investment Day would serve as a platform to bring\ntogether local governments, investors, and stakeholders to expand\ninvestment opportunities in Sumatra. According to Ameriza, at least five\ngovernors from Sumatra\u2019s 10 provinces are scheduled to attend the forum\nto strengthen investment collaboration and promote more inclusive and\nsustainable regional economic growth.<\/p>",
