        "content": "<p>North Sumatra Provincial Government successfully improved public\nhealth standards throughout 2025. This success is attributed to Governor\nMuhammad Bobby Afif Nasution\u2019s role in strengthening integrated health\nprogrammes focused on community service.<\/p>\n<p>Through the \u2018Kolaborasi Sumut Berkah\u2019 vision, the North Sumatra\nHealth Department surpassed several key health indicators, marked by\nincreased life expectancy and a significant drop in maternal mortality\nrate, exceeding national targets.<\/p>\n<p>Health Department Head Muhammad Faisal Hasrimy stated that five out\nof seven main performance indicators were achieved at over 100 per\ncent.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is the result of hard work, synergy, and a holistic approach by\ncentral, provincial, and district authorities in strengthening\nintegrated health services in North Sumatra,\u201d Faisal Hasrimy said on\nFriday, 29 May 2026.<\/p>\n<p>According to the 2025 Government Performance Report (LKIP) reviewed\nby the North Sumatra Provincial Inspectorate, most key health programme\nindicators exceeded set targets.<\/p>\n<p>One key macro indicator of health development success is the rise in\nlife expectancy. In 2025, North Sumatra\u2019s life expectancy reached 74.19\nyears, achieving 100.24% of the performance agreement target of 74.01\nyears.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis consistent positive trend compared to previous years shows\nimproved quality of life and healthcare access in North Sumatra,\u201d Faisal\nsaid, noting life expectancy was 73.90 years in 2024 and 73.67 in\n2023.<\/p>\n<p>The most notable achievement was in maternal and child health.\nMaternal mortality rate (MMR) in North Sumatra fell to 45.38 per 100,000\nlive births, significantly better than the initial target of 65.78 per\n100,000 live births (131.01% achievement).<\/p>\n<p>This rate is also well below the 2025 national average of 85.17 per\n100,000 live births.<\/p>\n<p>The decline in MMR was accompanied by a reduction in infant mortality\nrate (IMR) to 3.20 per 1,000 live births, better than the target of 3.28\nper 1,000 live births (102.44% achievement).<\/p>",
