The North Sumatra Provincial Government (Pemprov Sumut) has\nofficially begun drafting the Initial Draft Regional Action Plan (RAD)\nfor Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for 2026\u20132030.<\/p>\n
This strategic step was marked by the opening of a public\nconsultation held at the Adimulia Hotel in Medan on Monday\n(6\/4\/2026).<\/p>\n
The event also served as a key moment with the launch of the Business\nRegistration System (BRS) for SDGs, a digital business registration\nsystem claimed to be the first in Indonesia to integrate the role of the\nbusiness world into sustainable development targets.<\/p>\n
The system was officially launched by the Acting Secretary of the\nProvincial Government (Pj Sekdaprov) of North Sumatra, Sulaiman\nHarahap.<\/p>\n
In his remarks, Sulaiman emphasised that the RAD SDGs 2026\u20132030 is\nnot merely an administrative document. Its preparation is based on\nPresidential Regulation Number 111 of 2022, with support from competent\nexperts.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis document is compiled comprehensively based on valid data and an\nevidence-based policy approach. We want to ensure that development in\nNorth Sumatra is inclusive, equitable, and adaptive to social and\neconomic dynamics with the principle of No One Left Behind,\u201d said\nSulaiman.<\/p>\n
He also encouraged the implementation of the Build Forward Better\ninitiative, an approach to building North Sumatra to be more resilient,\nsafe, and sustainable, particularly in disaster risk mitigation and\nstrengthening infrastructure resilience.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the Head of the Regional Development Planning, Research,\nand Innovation Agency (Bapperida) of North Sumatra, Dikky Anugerah,\noutlined several macro indicator targets in the RAD SDGs 2026\u20132030.\nAmong them, economic growth is targeted at 7.6 percent, per capita\nincome at Rp115.3 million, poverty rate reduced to 2.82\u20133.82 percent,\nand the open unemployment rate lowered to 4.75 percent.<\/p>\n
In addition, the Human Development Index (IPM) is targeted to\ncontinue improving. \u201cSDGs are no longer an additional agenda but the\nmain framework for regional planning that aligns with the RPJPD and\nRPJMD,\u201d Dikky stressed.<\/p>\n
He explained that the launch of the BRS is the result of\ncollaboration between the North Sumatra Provincial Government, the SDGs\nCenter of Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), and the Japan International\nCooperation Agency (JICA).<\/p>\n
The system, Dikky continued, aims to transform private sector\npartnerships to be more structured and measurable.<\/p>\n
To date, 199 business actors have registered in the BRS system, with\na target of reaching 500 SMEs in 2026. Japan was chosen as a reference\ndue to its success in integrating sustainable development practices into\nits business registration system, he stated.<\/p>\n
Hisaaki Mitsui, IDJC Consultant for the JICA SDGs Project, also\nappreciated the initiative. He stated that North Sumatra\u2019s SDGs business\nregistration system has the potential to become a model for other\nprovinces in Indonesia.<\/p>\n
