North Maluku province recorded an investment realisation of Rp 40.2\ntrillion in the second quarter of 2026, making it the province with the\nthird-largest investment volume in Indonesia, according to Detik\nFinance.<\/p>\n
Nationally, investment realisation in the first half of 2026 reached\nRp 1,010.6 trillion, or 49.5 per cent of this year\u2019s target of Rp\n2,041.3 trillion. These investments have absorbed more than 1.4 million\nIndonesian workers.<\/p>\n
Sona Maesana, Special Staff to the Minister of Investment and\nDownstreaming and Head of BKPM for Downstreaming Acceleration and\nNational Entrepreneurship Enhancement, stated that high investment\nactivity should serve as an opportunity for local businesses to\ngrow.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis figure represents a very large opportunity. However, we must\ncontinue to oversee these commitments and agreements to ensure they\nresult in real transactions and realised partnerships,\u201d Sona said in a\nwritten statement on Wednesday, 2 September 2026.<\/p>\n
Currently, there are 34 large-scale enterprises in North Maluku with\na total partnership commitment of approximately Rp 7.89 trillion. Of\nthat amount, around Rp 4.52 trillion has been formalised in partnership\nagreements, while the recorded realisation reached Rp 3.53 trillion\nbetween 2021 and 2026.<\/p>\n
Sona explained that the scope for partnership between large\nenterprises and MSMEs is vast, covering food supply, raw materials,\nconstruction materials, logistics, machinery, personal protective\nequipment, accommodation, and other industrial operational needs.<\/p>\n
He emphasised that partnerships must be built on mutually beneficial\nrelationships, rather than mere one-off transactions.<\/p>\n
\u201cLarge enterprises are encouraged to disclose procurement needs,\nprovide standard certainty, mentor local suppliers, and implement\ntransparent selection processes. MSMEs must improve product quality,\nproduction capacity, legality, governance, and business\nprofessionalism,\u201d said Sona.<\/p>\n
During the National Business Partnership Policy Dissemination event\nin Ternate, Sona expressed hope that the business matching session,\nwhich brought together 160 MSME players, would not stop at contract\nexchanges but continue with measurable follow-ups, from identifying\nneeds to realising transactions.<\/p>\n
Delfinur Rizky Novihamzah, Director of Business Empowerment at the\nMinistry of Investment and Downstreaming\/BKPM, added that commitments\nalone are insufficient.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe government is encouraging the alignment of large enterprise\nneeds with local vendors who possess the necessary legality and business\nreadiness. Both central and regional governments will ensure that the\npartnership process can be realised, monitored, and well-supervised,\u201d\nexplained Delfinur.<\/p>\n
Sona asserted that North Maluku should not only serve as a site for\ndownstreaming but must also become a hub for the growth of local\nsuppliers, new entrepreneurs, skilled labour, and stronger MSMEs.<\/p>\n
