The North Jakarta Administration, via the Library and Archives\nSub-department (Sudin Pusip), is working to increase reading interest\nand literacy among students through the \u2018Kreasi Aksi Rekreasi Dongeng\nKeliling\u2019 (Karedok) programme at SDN Tugu Utara 09, Koja District.<\/p>\n
Anita Permata Sari, Assistant for Administration and Public Welfare\nof the North Jakarta City Secretary, stated that the Karedok programme\nserves as a medium to cultivate a reading culture while supporting\ngovernment efforts to limit gadget usage among children. \u201cThis literacy\nactivity is very positive as it supports the government\u2019s programme in\nrestricting gadget use for children,\u201d she said in Jakarta on\nThursday.<\/p>\n
She encouraged students to study diligently, remain honest, obey\nparents and teachers, and persevere in achieving their ambitions. She\nalso urged students to strengthen their curiosity by reading more and\nreducing screen time. \u201cFor those who are already frequenting the library\nand reading extensively, that is excellent; please continue to improve.\nEncourage your friends to also enjoy reading and reduce gadget use,\u201d\nAnita added.<\/p>\n
She expressed hope that the Karedly programme could be implemented\ncontinuously, targeting not only primary school students but also\nreaching higher levels of education.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the Head of the North Jakarta Library and Archives\nSub-department, Irawan, explained that Karedok is a routine activity\nconducted in public spaces and schools. The initiative aims to increase\npublic reading interest to enrich literacy levels. Karedok features\nvarious engaging activities, ranging from storytelling and acoustic\nliteracy sessions to educational games, creative activities, and student\nart performances, such as marawis, traditional dance, pencak silat, and\nAl-Qur\u2019an recitation.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe hope this activity can serve as a beneficial and enjoyable\ncreative space for children, helping to shape intelligent characters\nwith a literacy culture from an early age,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n
Manggala Catra Bagaskara (11), a Year 4 student at SDN Tugu Utara 09,\nexpressed his excitement about participating in the Karedok programme\nfor the first time. \u201cIt was very exciting and interesting. Many friends\nperformed arts, which boosted our enthusiasm.
