The Head of the Bukit Kaba Volcano Observation Post (PGA), Edi Teguh\nPurnomo, stated in Rejang Lebong on Tuesday that recent monitoring\nrecorded only one instance of a local tectonic earthquake.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe activity of Mount Bukit Kaba remains normal to date. From the\nlatest monitoring results, one local tectonic earthquake was recorded\nwith an amplitude of about 5.5 millimetres. There are no indications of\nincreased volcanological activity,\u201d said Edi.<\/p>\n
He explained that eruption activities or status increases occurring\nat several other volcanoes in Indonesia have had no impact on the\ncondition of Mount Bukit Kaba.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Bukit Kaba Tourism Awareness Group\n(Pokdarwis), Julian Adi Pratama, stated that there are currently no\nrestrictions or closures of climbing routes in the ecotourism area.<\/p>\n
\u201cClimbing activities are still normal at this time, with no\nrestrictions in place. Climbing remains open as usual,\u201d said Julian.<\/p>\n
Although tourism activities continue as normal, the group reminds\nvisitors to prioritise safety while in the Bukit Kaba area.<\/p>\n
In addition to personal safety, visitors are also asked to\nparticipate in preserving the Bukit Kaba forest ecosystem, particularly\nin anticipating the potential for forest and land fires.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe urge visitors to maintain safety, follow applicable regulations,\nnot to discard cigarette butts carelessly, not to build campfires in\nprohibited areas, and to take their rubbish back with them,\u201d said\nJulian.<\/p>\n
