One person was named as a\nsuspect in the case.<\/p>\n<p>The Head of the Central Java Police Public Relations Division,\nBrigadier General Djoko Julianto, stated that the case began with\nreports from the public regarding the circulation of wet noodles\nallegedly containing formaldehyde in Boyolali. Police subsequently\nlaunched an investigation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe then conducted an inspection together with the community on 10\nMarch and discovered a house that was indeed producing noodles commonly\nsold in markets and to the public,\u201d said Djoko, as reported by\ndetikJateng on Thursday, 12 March 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Police subsequently took samples of wet noodles from the market for\ntesting using rapid test kits. The examination results showed the\nnoodles tested positive for formaldehyde. In addition to the production\nsite, police also found a formaldehyde storage warehouse in Mojosongo\nDistrict, Boyolali.<\/p>\n<p>One suspect with initials WH was arrested during the raid. He is\nsuspected of being the seller or distributor of the\nformaldehyde-adulterated wet noodles and of instructing his workers to\nprepare noodle dough mixed with formaldehyde as a preservative.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe suspect had been producing formaldehyde-adulterated noodles\nsince 2019 with an average production capacity of 1\u20131.5 tonnes per day,\u201d\nhe explained.<\/p>",
