        "content": "<p>Nonintervention good for ASEAN members<\/p>\n<p>MANILA (AFP): A policy of not intervening with each other's<br>\ninternal affairs has worked well for the 10-member Association of<br>\nSoutheast Asian Nations (ASEAN), scholars and businessmen said<br>\nhere on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Singapore professor Chin Tet Yung said the ASEAN Eminent<br>\nPersons Group reviewed over the weekend the grouping's consensus<br>\nbuilding policy which he credited for helping solve past crises<br>\nin the region.<\/p>\n<p>The Eminent Persons Group is composed of academics and members<br>\nof the private sector tasked by ASEAN leaders to come up with<br>\nrecommendations to help shape future policies.<\/p>\n<p>\"We are looking into ways and means of consensus mechanism in<br>\nASEAN and try to work on symbolically with the nonintervention<br>\npolicy,\" Chin told a news conference here.<\/p>",
