Nokia opens sales and service center<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Nokia Mobile Phones Indonesia, a subsidiary of
\nFinnish cellular phone manufacturer Nokia, opened its first
\nauthorized sales and service center in Indonesia and Southeast
\nAsia yesterday.<\/p>\n
The general manager of Nokia Mobile Phones Indonesia,
\nAlexander Lambeek, said the operation of the Nokia Professional
\nCenter, located at the Golden Plaza office complex in South
\nJakarta, was facilitated by PT Bimasakti Usindo Persada under a
\nfranchise scheme.<\/p>\n
Lambeek said Nokia planned to open similar centers in several
\nlarge cities cross Indonesia, including Surabaya, Semarang,
\nBandung and Medan, in the next few months.<\/p>\n
\"The center offers the highest standard of customer care which
\nNokia continually supervises,\" Lambeek said.<\/p>\n
He said the center provided all of Nokia's products and
\naccessories for cellular phone operating systems in Indonesia,
\nincluding Nordic Mobile Telephones (NMT), Advanced Mobile Phone
\nServices (AMPS) and Global System for Mobile Telecommunications
\n(GSM).<\/p>\n
The center has technicians who have been trained by Nokia
\nstaff from Malaysia to professionally install car kits and repair
\ncellular phones.<\/p>\n
Lambeek promised that the center would repair any broken
\ncellular phone in 30 minutes. If it was unable to fix the phone
\nwithin that time, the center would lend a phone to the customer
\nuntil their phone was repaired.<\/p>\n
The president of Bimasakti, Hermes Thamrin, said workers from
\ncellular network operators such as Telkomsel, Satelindo,
\nExcelcomindo, Orbit-Mobisel and Komselindo would also have
\nrepresentatives at the center to help with queries.<\/p>\n
He said the operators would instantly activate all cellular
\nphones bought at the center.<\/p>\n
\"Customers can also choose their favorite subscriber identity
\nmodule card number at the center,\" Hermes said.<\/p>\n
Nokia ranks second in Indonesia behind Sweden's Ericsson in
\nterms of product sales, but the company refused to disclose any
