In various places, particularly within the Jakarta-Bogor-
\nTangerang-Bekasi (Jabotabek) area, many people are earning their
\nliving by dirty means such as making pornographic pictures, films
\nand videos, and putting them on sale. Also they turn to practices
\nof prostitution, abortion etc. either done illegally or even
\npublicly. All these practices are supported by sophisticated and
\nmodern technologies.<\/p>\n
Unfortunately their activities are hard to eradicate and the
\npractitioners continue doing their business unabated. Worse still
\nthere is an impression that the authorities are totally incapable
\n(of dealing with the lawlessness). In some cases those
\nresponsible for law and order are themselves involved in the
\ndirty business.<\/p>\n
In my opinion, this situation is highly contrary to our civil
\nconscience. Because, after all, humans are the creation of God,
\nthey are most beautiful and valued among His creations.<\/p>\n
The distribution of films, video cassettes and pornographic
\npictures exploiting human bodies is a form of abuse, insult and
\nhumiliation. Such abuse and humiliation of woman's body is a
\ndesecration of God's work. There is a wise saying: \"The human
\nbody is the place of God, where He is enshrined and does his
\ngodly works. A question arises now, \"How can people do this dirty
\nbusiness? How can men praise the name of God when they are
\nagainst the Creator's teachings.<\/p>\n
Now is the best time for the authorities and the people within
\nJabotabek to contemplate on the matter to the benefit of
\nsucceeding generations. What kind of future would we be facing if
\nelementary school children speak, or even do pornographic
\nactivities?<\/p>\n
I am aware of the difficulty of finding a good solution to
\nthis problem. But the government and society should not remain
\nidle and do nothing about it. I certainly do not want our culture
\nand civilization to collapse merely because of lust and passion
\nand love of money and material things.<\/p>\n
