No panic needed at Mt Slamet<\/p>\n
BANDUNG: The Directorate of Volcanology and Mitigation of
\nGeological Disasters said that 3,428-meter Mount Slamet in
\nCentral Java province was still normal on Friday, despite reports
\nto the contrary.<\/p>\n
Director Yousana OP Siagian said that to this point the
\nvolcano's status could be seen from the earthquake's data
\nrecorded by a seismograph and visual instruments placed at the
\nmountain observation post.<\/p>\n
Responding to the reports in mass media that the activity of
\nMount Slamet mountain had increased, he said it was a normal part
\nof its activity, which always produces some smoke.<\/p>\n
Therefore, he said, people living around the mountain need not
