But<br>\nthere has been no such request,\" the official, who did not want<br>\nto be identified, told Reuters.<\/p>\n<p>A report in Sunday's Japanese business daily Nihon Keizai<br>\nShimbun quoted international financial sources as saying that the<br>\nIMF was likely to ask Japan to extend an additional $1 billion in<br>\nemergency loans to Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>The paper said the aim of the loans would be to prevent the<br>\nIndonesian government from being forced to defer repayment of its<br>\nexternal debt.<\/p>",
