        "content": "<p>No money for orphans<\/p>\n<p>TANGERANG: Members of the Tangerang legislative council<br>\nquestioned the 2004 budget draft during a session on Tuesday,<br>\nasking why it failed to include promised money to send orphans<br>\nand poor children to school.<\/p>\n<p>Councillor Samsudin pointed out that the budget draft only<br>\nallocate funds for &quot;school development&quot;.<\/p>\n<p>Tangerang Regent Ismet Iskandar earlier promised that the<br>\nadministration would earmark at least Rp 12.7 billion (US$1.49<br>\nmillion) to pay for the schooling of orphans and poor students<br>\nstarting in January next year.<\/p>\n<p>The head of the local education agency, Mas Iman Kusnandar,<br>\nsaid the funds for this purpose would be taken from the<br>\nAdministration Development Planning Body&apos;s budget.<\/p>\n<p>The proposed sums for elementary and Islamic boarding school<br>\nstudents is Rp 20,000 per year, Rp 60,000 for junior high school<br>\nstudents and Rp 75,000 for high school students. -- JP<\/p>",
