I am writing in response to your article entitled 'Govt
\nconsidering amending social security law: Fahmi' of June 19. In my
\ncapacity as chief of PT Jamsostek's Jl. Gatot Subroto office, I
\nfind it necessary to give the following explanation:<\/p>\n
1. On June 18, 1998, a number of journalists came to me to ask
\nfor information on the company's service to workers who were
\nfired by their employers during the monetary crisis, and on PT
\nMoya's participation in the social security program.<\/p>\n
2. I just gave the journalists the information they needed,
\nwhich, among others, was:<\/p>\n
* The amount of insurance claims paid by PT Jamsostek between
\nJanuary 1997 and June 1998.<\/p>\n
* PT Moya Zamzami Utama's arrears to PT Jamsostek. The company
\nput on hold its premium worth Rp 161,992,985, including a fine of
\nRp 50,273,685, from March 1994 through October 1997.<\/p>\n
3. During the meeting with the journalists, I had never mentioned
\nthe Kodel Group.<\/p>\n
With this explanation, I hope that all sides connected with
\nthe news article can understand.<\/p>\n

Note: It was PT Jamsostek officials who stated that PT Moya
\nZamzami Utama is part of Kodel Group. They noted that the 1998
\nedition of Top Companies and Big Groups in Indonesia published by
\nPT Kompas Indonesia also lists PT Moya Zamzami Utama as one of
\nthe 22 companies under the Kodel Group.<\/p>\n
