Jakarta’s Department of Health (Dinkes) has stated that measles cases
among Jakarta residents remain zero to date. Nevertheless, the public is
advised to remain vigilant, particularly as mobility increases
approaching Lebaran.

“There are currently no confirmed positive cases of measles in
Jakarta. We are conducting surveillance monitoring,” said Jakarta’s
Health Department Head Ani Ruspitawati during a visit to RSKD Duren
Sawit in East Jakarta on Tuesday (10 March 2026).

Patients presenting with certain symptoms will undergo further
examination. “We conduct laboratory tests, but so far there have been no
confirmed cases among Jakarta residents,” she stated.

Although Jakarta has not recorded any measles cases, Ani cautioned
that several surrounding areas have begun reporting cases. The public is
therefore urged to remain vigilant, especially ahead of Lebaran when
population mobility and social gatherings increase significantly.

She noted that infants and children represent the most vulnerable
group for measles due to their weakened immune systems. “The most
vulnerable group is children, particularly infants and toddlers. They
must be properly protected. Avoid touching or kissing children, as their
immune systems remain very fragile,” Ani said.
",
