        "content": "<p>No license for executive ferry<\/p>\n<p>SERANG, West Java: A local ferry operator has failed to secure<br>\nthe license to operate a luxury liner linking Merak with<br>\nBakauheni because the ship is still flying a Panamanian flag.<\/p>\n<p>Merak port chief administrator H.M. Thamrin A.R. confirmed<br>\nthat the ship, the Bahtera Princess, will not be plying the<br>\nroute.<\/p>\n<p>The Panama-registered ship is owned by Singapore-based Indo<br>\nFalcon Shipping PTE Ltd and was to be operated under a joint<br>\nventure with PT Marinemas Gunausaha, a private operator, and the<br>\nstate owned PT ASDP, according to Antara.<\/p>\n<p>The liner, which ran a trial operation for two days in May,<br>\nhas been docking at Merak.<\/p>\n<p>The plan to send it back to Singapore has been hampered by<br>\nmore red tape.<\/p>\n<p>Thamrin said he refused to give the clearance for the ship to<br>\nset sail because its registration certificate expired on June 6.<br>\n(emb)<\/p>",
