Nippon to build RI gas plant<\/p>\n
TOKYO (Nikkei): Nippon Steel Corp. has received two orders for
\nnatural-gas development bases from two companies based in
\nJakarta, Indonesia, totaling Y4.5 billion, the Nihon Keizai
\nShimbun reported in it Saturday morning edition.<\/p>\n
Development of natural resources in Asia slowed following the
\neconomic crisis of 1997. However, activity in this area has once
\nagain revived on a turnaround in the Asian economies.<\/p>\n
Nippon Steel is to build a base off the eastern coast of
\nneighboring Malaysia for the Indonesian arm of Premier Oil PLC, a
\nU.K. outfit. The order is worth Y2 billion.<\/p>\n
The company was also to construct a base for the Indonesian
\nunit of the France-based Totalfina group. The construction will
\ntake place off the southeast of Kalimantan. The order totals Y2.5
\nbillion.<\/p>\n
Nippon Steel is to handle design, manufacturing, installation
\nand trial operation for both bases.<\/p>",
