        "content": "<p>Nine Thais injured at Lao border post<\/p>\n<p>BANGKOK (AP): An explosion rocked a border and immigration<br>\ncheckpoint in Laos, just across the Mekong river from Thailand,<br>\ninjuring at least nine Thai tourists, police said.<\/p>\n<p>They said the explosion appears to have been caused by a bomb.<\/p>\n<p>The injured, including two in a serious condition, were<br>\nbrought by Lao immigration officials to the Thai town of Nong<br>\nKhai, police Col. Sakda Wongsiriyanon said in a telephone<br>\ninterview from the town.<\/p>\n<p>Nong Khai is 510 kilometers northeast of Bangkok and is<br>\nconnected with Laos by the 1-kilometer-long Friendship Bridge<br>\nacross the Mekong. The Lao immigration and border checkpoint is<br>\nat the foot of the bridge.<\/p>\n<p>Sakda said Lao authorities told their Thai counterparts that<br>\nthe explosion was caused by a computer blowing up, apparently due<br>\nto an electrical short circuit.
