"summary": "Police in Brebes, Central Java, have named nine civil servant teachers as suspects for developing and distributing an illegal attendance application. The app allowed approximately 3,000 civil servants, including health workers and officials, to falsify their presence records. "content": "<p>Nine teachers with civil servant status in Brebes have been named\nsuspects in a case involving an illegal attendance application. The\nsuspects profited by selling the application to civil servants who\nwished to cheat the attendance system. Each suspect had a specific role.\nThe case began when the Brebes Regency Personnel and Human Resources\nDevelopment Agency (BKPSDMD) reported the existence of the application.\nTo confirm the attendance fraud, BKPSDMD disabled the official\nattendance application system on specific dates. It was subsequently\nproven that during that period, many civil servants were still recording\ntheir attendance, even though the application was already inactive.\nBrebes Police Chief AKBP Lilik Ardhiansyah stated that BKPSDMD turned\noff the attendance system from 29 to 30 April to identify the users.\nDuring that time, an anomaly was detected as many civil servants\ncontinued to clock in using the application despite it being\ndeactivated. Following the discovery, the Head of BKPSDMD Brebes\nreported the matter to the police. The police then formed a team\nconsisting of Unit 3 of Specific Crimes and Unit 2 of Corruption Crimes\nfrom the Brebes Police Criminal Investigation Unit. After conducting an\ninvestigation, examining witnesses, collecting evidence, and seeking\nopinions from criminal law and ITE experts, the police named nine\nsuspects. The suspects are currently detained at the Brebes Class IIB\nDetention Centre. The suspects had distinct roles, ranging from creating\nthe illegal application, providing bank accounts to collect sales\nproceeds, to distributing and using the application. AH, a resident of\nSonggom, Brebes, played the crucial role of creating the application.\nDB, a resident of Larangan, Brebes, was responsible for borrowing\nidentity cards as a requirement to open bank accounts for receiving\nsales proceeds and also distributed and used the application. Suspect\nFFR, a resident of Larangan, Brebes, was tasked with creating a WhatsApp\ngroup for selling the application and also distributed and used it. RTH,\na resident of Banyumas, distributed and used the application. NK, a\nresident of Tonjong, Brebes, distributed and used the application. AM, a\nresident of Larangan, Brebes, distributed and used the application. SEP,\na resident of Banyumas, distributed and used the application. SDK, a\nresident of Banjarharjo, Brebes, distributed and used the application.\nLS, a resident of Bantarkawung, Brebes, distributed and used the\napplication. An investigation by the Brebes BKPSDMD team revealed that\napproximately 3,000 civil servants were users of the illegal attendance\napplication. Brebes Regent Paramitha Widya Kusuma stated that the\npreliminary findings showed 3,000 civil servant users, including health\nworkers and several officials, with teachers and health workers being\nthe largest groups.<\/p>",
