Nine convicted for robbery<\/p>\n
BOGOR (JP): The Bogor District Court sentenced nine students
\nfrom Siliwangi High School in Bogor on Monday to two-and-a-half
\nmonths imprisonment each for robbing and assaulting four junior
\nhigh school pupils last November.<\/p>\n
Presiding Judge Sri Kasiyani said in her verdict that on Nov.
\n23 the nine students, named Sudrajat, Davi, Pramana, Aldi, Ari,
\nFauzan, Budi, Jeri and Andri gathered on the side of Jl. Baru
\nKedung Badak at around 5 p.m.<\/p>\n
\"The students, aged between 16 years and 17 years, were
\nwaiting for empty pickup trucks to bring them home from school.<\/p>\n
\"Then a Kijang pickup driven by Nurhamzah passed by at a low
\nspeed and the students jumped in for a free ride,\" Sri Kasiyani
\ntold the hearing.<\/p>\n
\"There were already four junior high school students in the
\ntruck, namely Bima, Dimas, Gautama and Vitra,\" she said.<\/p>\n
The nine high school students were entranced by the
\npossessions which the four children had with them, such as
\nwristwatches, shoes, bags and a guitar.<\/p>\n
\"They threatened the four with a machete, hit the victims and
\nthen snatched their belongings,\" Kasiyani said.<\/p>\n
The driver witnessed the crime and drove to a nearby security
\npost at the Kedung Badak Baru housing complex.<\/p>\n
Local security guards and residents then ran after the nine
\nteenagers and caught five of them. \"Police later picked the other
\nfour at the school,\" the judge said.<\/p>\n
\"Such action is a direct violation of article 365 of the
\nCriminal Code for thievery with violence,\" Kasiyani said.(24\/edt)<\/p>",
