        "content": "<p>The case of the assault on residents of Petemon Neighbourhood,\nPagutan Timur Ward, Mataram City, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), has been\nresolved amicably. However, the assailants have been sanctioned with one\nmonth of detention and expulsion from their residential\nneighbourhood.<\/p>\n<p>The perpetrators of the assault are RHF, RB, AZH, DP, MFA, RA, S, F,\nand B. They reside in Peresak Timur Neighbourhood, Pagutan Ward, Mataram\nCity.<\/p>\n<p>Mulyadi stated that the expulsion sanction constitutes a form of\nsocial sanction based on awik-awik or customary law applicable in\nPeresak Timur Neighbourhood.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe social sanction will be permanent expulsion from Peresak Timur\nNeighbourhood,\u201d said Mataram Police Sector Chief AKP Mulyadi to\ndetikBali on Tuesday (24\/3\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>He explained that the perpetrators have been living with relatives,\nsuch as grandparents, not their biological parents. By mutual agreement\namong the residents, they have been decided not to be allowed to live in\nthe neighbourhood any longer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith this incident, it has been agreed to expel these children\n(perpetrators) from Peresak Timur Neighbourhood,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to being expelled from Peresak Timur Neighbourhood, the\nnine perpetrators will also undergo one month of detention at Mataram\nPolice Resort as a deterrent effect.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe agreement from both parties is to provide a deterrent effect. The assault\nprovoked a reaction from Petemon Neighbourhood residents.<\/p>\n<p>On Sunday (22\/3) night, the situation heated up further. Several\nPetemon Neighbourhood residents damaged shops of residents suspected to\nbe the assailants. They also burned a rice cart and damaged residents\u2019\nhouses.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMediation efforts at Mataram Police Sector have been carried out but\nyielded no results. The victim wants this case to be processed further\nlegally,\u201d said Mulyadi.<\/p>\n<p>As a result of the assault, traffic on Jalan Bung Karno was\ncompletely jammed, causing fear among passing residents.
