The arrests were confirmed by the Director for Drug Crimes of the\nNational Police\u2019s Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim), Brigadier\nGeneral Eko Hadi Santoso, in a press statement on Saturday.<\/p>\n
According to Santoso, the nine suspects were arrested in separate\nlocations in Central Kalimantan and East Kalimantan provinces between\nJuly 3 and July 8.<\/p>\n
He detailed the suspects\u2019 initials and their alleged roles in the\nattack. BO, identified as a drug dealer, is accused of opening fire on\nthe officers with firearms and inciting nearby residents to join the\nassault.<\/p>\n
Suspects SD, LLP, PI, and RL were allegedly involved in the shooting\nand supplied firearms to the drug syndicate. Meanwhile, suspect IMP,\nalso known as RB, is accused of disposing of the officers\u2019 bodies in a\nriver after the killings.<\/p>\n
NM and ARS, alias YD, were also accused of provoking nearby residents\nto attack the officers.<\/p>\n
Police also arrested a female suspect identified by the initials DN,\nalthough her alleged role in the attack was not disclosed.<\/p>\n
Police have also placed three additional suspects on the wanted list:\nPA, alias DY, who allegedly stabbed the officers and helped dump their\nbodies; DR, alias IYS, who is also accused of stabbing the officers; and\nIL, who allegedly supplied weapons to the drug syndicate and\nparticipated in the attack on the officers.<\/p>\n
Three officers from Katingan District Police in Central Kalimantan\nwere killed during a raid on a drug syndicate in Tumbang Kalemei Village\nin the early hours of Thursday (July 2).<\/p>\n
According to Katingan Police Chief Adjunct Senior Commissioner Dodik\nHartono, the operation initially proceeded as planned, with officers\nsuccessfully arresting a suspect.<\/p>\n
However, the situation escalated when the suspect\u2019s family members\nattacked the officers with weapons.<\/p>\n
The confrontation prompted nearby residents to join the assault, and\nthe officers were rescued only after reinforcements arrived.<\/p>\n
The three officers killed at the scene were identified as Second\nInspector Sumariyanto, First Adjunct Inspector Yudhi Perdana Putra, and\nFirst Brigadier Nopandri Ramadhan; all received posthumous\npromotions.<\/p>\n
