        "content": "<p>Denpasar, Bali \u2014 I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport in Denpasar, Bali has\nreturned to normal operations after a number of flights were disrupted\nby extreme weather.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs of 3.30pm WITA, in connection with the heavy rainfall conditions\nat I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport on Tuesday, 24 February 2026, we can\nconfirm that airport operations are running normally,\u201d said Gede Eka\nSandi Asmadi, Head of the Communication and Legal Division at I Gusti\nNgurah Rai Airport, in an official statement in Denpasar on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>He explained that five flights had previously been affected by the\nstorms and extreme weather that struck Bali.<\/p>\n<p>On the arrivals side, Cebu Pacific flight 5J 281 on the\nManila\u2013Denpasar route was diverted to Makassar at 12.12am WITA on\nTuesday. However, the flight was confirmed to have landed in Denpasar at\n5.40am WITA.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIndonesia AirAsia flight QZ 247 on the Phuket\u2013Denpasar route was\ndiverted to Jakarta at 1.05am WITA, but the flight landed in Denpasar at\n7.02am WITA,\u201d said Eka Sandi.<\/p>\n<p>On the departures side, Cebu Pacific was also affected by the extreme\nweather at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport. Cebu Pacific flight 5J 282 on the\nDenpasar\u2013Manila route, originally scheduled to depart at 1.00am WITA,\nwas delayed until 4.00am WITA due to weather conditions.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, Transnusa flight 8B 5254 on the Denpasar\u2013Lombok route,\nscheduled to depart at 12.40pm WITA, was rescheduled to 3.29pm WITA.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLastly, Wings Air flight IW 1856 on the Denpasar\u2013Lombok route,\nscheduled to depart at 11.10am WITA, eventually departed at 12.08pm WITA\nand landed at 12.40pm WITA,\u201d said Eka Sandi.<\/p>\n<p>Amid the extreme weather that has hit Bali in recent days, I Gusti\nNgurah Rai Airport confirmed it is continuously coordinating with\nrelevant agencies, namely BMKG (the Meteorology, Climatology and\nGeophysics Agency) and AirNav Indonesia, to monitor weather developments\nin the airport area.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is to ensure the safety and security of passengers in airport\noperations,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are also ensuring that infrastructure and supporting facilities\nat the terminal remain in prime condition so that service quality for\nairport users stays optimal,\u201d the airport management added.<\/p>\n<p>Given that rain continues to fall across nearly all of Bali, Eka\nSandi urged all users of I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport to arrive at the\nairport earlier and to continue monitoring traffic conditions en route\nto the airport to ensure smooth travel.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe also urge service users to coordinate with their airlines to\nobtain the latest flight information,\u201d he said.<\/p>",
