NGOs quiet about Ambon tragedy<\/p>\n

Reading newspapers these days makes me utterly sad. Imagine,
\nnearly every day there are deaths in conflicts raging in Ambon.
\nEach group takes turns. One day it is our Muslim brothers, the
\nnext it is Christians.<\/p>\n
Outrageous cruelties against humanity which we saw in Bosnia
\nsome time ago are now happening in this country.<\/p>\n
What is more saddening is that nobody seems to care about the
\ntragedy. In my opinion, the government and the Armed Forces are
\nnot serious in handling the matter. If they were serious, the
\nconflicts would have ceased long ago.<\/p>\n
The voice of NGOs is also not heard. Are they all too busy
\nwith social safety net funds so they do not care anymore about
\nthe fate of their brothers in Ambon? Where is Munir with his
\nKontras? Where is the National Commission on Human Rights? Is it
\nour wish to let the slaughtering go on in Ambon?<\/p>\n
