        "content": "<p>NGO says parking fee unfair<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA: Consumer Protection executive committee member Irwan<br>\nSukatmawijaya said on Thursday that the newly imposed parking fee<br>\nwas unfair to consumers.<\/p>\n<p>The new parking fee requires motorists to pay a 20 percent tax<br>\nwhich should have been the responsibility of parking management.<\/p>\n<p>Consumer Protection also criticized parking management<br>\ncompanies -- including PT Securindo Packatama Indonesia (Secure<br>\nParking), PT Cipta Prima Chemindo (City Parking), PT Anugerah<br>\nBina Karya (EZ Parking), PT Autopark Indonesia (Autoparking) and<br>\nPT Surya Utama Nusaparka (Sunparking) -- for increasing the<br>\nparking fees with no concern for the interests of consumers.<\/p>\n<p>The implementation of this procedure is also considered to be<br>\na violation of law no.8\/1999.<\/p>\n<p>Parking management companies increased fees early in June, but<br>\nheated protest over the increase forced the city administration<br>\nto revoke the hike. -- JP<\/p>",
