        "content": "<p>Jakarta (ANTARA) - Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Nezar\nPatria has highlighted a new cyber threat arising from the development\nof quantum computing, including the practice of \u2018harvest now, decrypt\nlater\u2019. In this pattern, perpetrators do not need to immediately open\nstolen data but instead store it until technology capable of decrypting\nit becomes available. \u2018There is data they have stolen that they cannot\nopen because it is encrypted. But they store it, they take it,\u2019 Nezar\nsaid in an official statement received in Jakarta on Monday. He made the\nremarks at the ITSEC Cyber &amp; AI Academy Grand Launching in South\nJakarta. According to him, cyber actors can steal and store encrypted\ndata to be opened in the future once quantum computing capabilities can\nbreak current encryption systems. Therefore, he assessed that Indonesia\nneeds to start preparing security systems capable of facing the\ndevelopment of quantum technology. \u2018We also have to prepare, especially\nfor our data security, for our cryptographic systems, that is\npost-quantum cryptography,\u2019 he stressed. Nezar said these preparations\nmust begin now because data stolen and stored by perpetrators can still\nhold value in the future. The ransomware attack on the Temporary\nNational Data Centre (PDNS) 2 in June 2024 served as a lesson for the\ngovernment to evaluate its cyber security architecture. One of the\nchanges in approach is implementing security from the initial stages of\nsystem development, or security by design. Nezar emphasised that\nsecurity aspects must be included in the planning stage as threats\nbecome increasingly complex with the advancement of artificial\nintelligence (AI). The development of agentic AI even enables attacks to\nbe carried out automatically without fully relying on human hackers. \u2018It\nis no longer hackers doing the work, but agentic AI carrying out these\ncyber attacks,\u2019 he said. Facing these changes, Nezar stated that\nIndonesia also needs talent capable of understanding developments in\ncyber security and new technology. He noted that the presence of the\nITSEC Cyber &amp; AI Academy can serve as a bridge between technological\ndevelopments in industry and the competencies taught in higher\neducation. \u2018Without strong talent, I believe our wealth of data will\neventually be scattered everywhere, stolen, read, and captured by those\nwho are more powerful,\u2019 he concluded.<\/p>",
