        "content": "<p>Newly appointed NBI chief dies<\/p>\n<p>MANILA (Reuter): The chief of the Philippines' National Bureau<br>\nof Investigation, who was appointed only a week ago, died of a<br>\nheart attack yesterday, a Manila hospital spokesman said.<\/p>\n<p>NBI Director Antonio Aragon, 64, was taken to hospital on<br>\nThursday night after suffering chest pains following a meeting<br>\nwith president Fidel Ramos at the presidential palace.<\/p>\n<p>Aragon had reopened the investigation into the gruesome<br>\nmurders of three members of the Vizconde family in 1991 after a<br>\nnew witness surfaced to implicate eight scions of prominent<br>\nfamilies, including a son of a senator, in the crime.<\/p>\n<p>Aragon served the NBI for 37 years and had been appointed as<br>\nhead of the agency on June 17.<\/p>",
