        "content": "<p>Eddy alias Awie, owner of the New Zone nightclub in Medan, North\nSumatra, is wanted by police over suspected drug trafficking.<\/p>\n<p>Director of the Narcotics Crimes Directorate (Dirtipidnarkoba) at\nBareskrim Polri, Brigadier General Eko Hadi Santoso, confirmed Eddy has\nbeen listed as a wanted person (DPO) by the agency.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEddy, alias Awie, as the owner of New Zone nightclub in Medan, is\nalso the dealer supplying narcotics to patrons of the establishment,\u201d he\nstated on Saturday, 30 May 2026.<\/p>\n<p>According to the DPO document, Eddy is a businessman residing at\nCemara Asri Complex in Deli Serdang, North Sumatra. His physical\ndescription includes a height of 170 centimetres, weight of 85\nkilograms, approximately 50 years old, thin straight hair, black\nalmond-shaped eyes, large nose, slightly overweight, and fair skin.<\/p>\n<p>Eddy faces charges under Article 114(1) in conjunction with Article\n132(1) and\/or Article 131 of Law No.\u00a035 of 2009 on Narcotics, in\nconjunction with Law No.\u00a01 of 2023 on the Criminal Code (KUHP), and Law\nNo.\u00a01 of 2026 on Penalty Adjustments; or Article 609(1)(a) of Law No.\u00a01\nof 2023 on KUHP in conjunction with Law No.\u00a01 of 2026 on Penalty\nAdjustments, and Article 132(1) of Law No.\u00a035 of 2009 on Narcotics in\nconjunction with Article 20(c) of Law No.\u00a01 of 2023 on KUHP.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, the Narcotics Crimes Directorate (Dittipidnarkoba) of\nBareskrim Polri uncovered a suspected drug trafficking case at New Zone\nnightclub in Medan.<\/p>\n<p>Brigadier General Eko Hadi Santoso said a joint team from\nSubdirectorate IV and the Narcotic Investigation Center (NIC) conducted\na raid at the venue early Saturday at 3:25 AM WIB.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA number of narcotics were seized from the scene,\u201d he stated in a\npress release from Jakarta on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the seized drugs, he added, investigators arrested 34\nindividuals including the owner, manager, staff, adult patrons, and\nunderage patrons.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUrine tests were conducted on the 34 detained individuals, with some\ntesting positive for drug use,\u201d he said.<\/p>",
