        "content": "<p>New trend in marketing<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): In a cluttered commercial era where consumers<br>\nare bombarded with a plethora of commercials everyday, more<br>\nbusinesses are questioning how much advertising now influences<br>\nconsumer purchasing decisions, according to public relations<br>\nconsultant Edward Depari.<\/p>\n<p>Edward, head of the Public Relations &amp; Investor Relations<br>\nDivision of Business Advisory Indonesia, observed on Wednesday<br>\nthat in an over-communicated society, consumers often develop<br>\ncommunications avoidance routines.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;As mass advertising and even target advertising lose some of<br>\ntheir cost-effectiveness, more companies have been driven to<br>\nother media, namely marketing public relations,&quot; he added.<\/p>\n<p>Edward argued that public relations supports marketing by<br>\ncreating events which have news value that will attract media<br>\nattention, consequently audience attention, since events are<br>\npresented in a news format rather than a form of advertisement.<\/p>",
