        "content": "<p>New science and cultural center<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): The municipal administration is considering an<br>\noffer from Mitsui Corp. of Japan to build a new science and<br>\ncultural center in the city.<\/p>\n<p>Head of city public relations office Soesila Darmoadji told<br>\nreporters on Wednesday that at first the company had offered a<br>\ndonation to modernize the city's planetarium facilities at Ismail<br>\nMarzuki cultural center but that the governor had refused it.<\/p>\n<p>\"The governor said the city had no intention of changing the<br>\narchitecture of the planetarium,\" Soesila said.<\/p>\n<p>Soesila added that the governor realizes that the equipment in<br>\nthe planetarium is out of date, but that he intends to modernize<br>\nit with equipment which is made in Germany.<\/p>\n<p>He said the governor then suggested that Mitsui build a new<br>\nplanetarium and the company agreed to the proposal. Mitsui did,<br>\nhowever, ask the city administration to provide between three and<br>\nfive hectares of land as the site of the center.<\/p>\n<p>\"Now the company has told the governor that they are going to<br>\nbuild the (science and cultural) center instead and that the<br>\nplanetarium will be part of it,\" Soesila said.
