        "content": "<p>New rules on market fees<\/p>\n<p>BEKASI (JP): New rules governing the collection of fees in<br>\nmarkets and shopping centers in Bekasi will come into effect as<br>\nof September.<\/p>\n<p>The rules will replace previous ones which are no longer<br>\nappropriate since they were issued back in 1977, Donie Setiawan,<br>\nhead of Bekasi's market management office, said.<\/p>\n<p>Under the new rules varying amounts of fees will be collected.<\/p>\n<p>\"Fees for vegetables traders, for example, will be different<br>\nfrom those charged electronic or jewelry shops,\" Donnie said.<\/p>\n<p>He said that the new rules would help the regency increase<br>\nrevenues from the collection of fees in markets. The city has set<br>\na target of Rp 28 billion from fee collection at markets this<br>\nyear.<\/p>\n<p>Donnie is confident that the target can be achieved.<\/p>\n<p>Of the 29 markets under the authority of the regency<br>\nadministration and three privately run markets, Cibitung Pasar<br>\nInduk recorded Rp 290 million in fee collection, the highest,<br>\nlast year. This was followed by the Pasar Baru shopping center<br>\nand Pasar Pondok Gede, which collected Rp 254 million and Rp 180<br>\nmillion respectively.<\/p>\n<p>The three private markets collected Rp 24 million.
