        "content": "<p>New radio station comes under fire<\/p>\n<p>PALU, Central Sulawesi: The Association of Indonesian Private<br>\nRadio Stations (PRSSNI) has strongly protested the Central<br>\nSulawesi Provincial Legislative Council&apos;s decision to launch its<br>\nown radio broadcasting station despite the absence of a license.<\/p>\n<p>Head of PRRSNI&apos;s Central Sulawesi branch office Tasdiqy<br>\nLasahido reiterated that according to the broadcasting law, only<br>\nprivate companies are allowed to set up a private radio station.<\/p>\n<p>Telecommunication Law No.36\/1999 stipulates that users of<br>\nradio waves and satellites are obliged to obtain a license from<br>\nthe telecommunication services office.<\/p>\n<p>Launched on air on Monday, the councils&apos;s radio named Bahana<br>\nSwara Rakyat is financed with funds taken from the local budget.<br>\nIt airs the council&apos;s activities on 96.82 Mhz.<\/p>\n<p>Head of the province&apos;s telecommunication and transportation<br>\nservice Widoto admitted that the council has yet to notify his<br>\noffice regarding the launch of the radio station.
