New party needed?<\/p>\n

The necessity of a new political party is a hot topic of
\ndiscussion in our community at present. It is in fact not
\nimportant who first brought up the subject. It is also not
\nimportant under what circumstances the idea first occurred. For a
\nlayman like me the problem has become a question as to the number
\nof political parties required and when they will enter the world
\nof politics in this country.<\/p>\n
We all know that both old and new organizations are now
\npreparing themselves to establish new parties.<\/p>\n
The government should as soon as possible pass a law on
\npolitical parties, weighing the advantages and drawbacks and the
\nnecessity of new parties without sacrificing the nation's unity.<\/p>\n
In the 1950s it was said that for the sake of democracy many
\nparties were established. The result was an endless dispute that
\ndid the nation no good.<\/p>\n
Perhaps there is now a need for additional political parties
\nto channel the aspirations that could not be accommodated by the
\nthree existing parties, PPP (United Development Party), Golkar
\n(Functional Group) and PDI (Indonesian Democratic Party).<\/p>\n
