        "content": "<p>Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa has confirmed that the latest\nDraft Bill intended to revise Law Number 4 of 2023 regarding the\nDevelopment and Strengthening of the Financial Sector (UU P2SK) will\nspecifically regulate legal protection for Bank Indonesia employees and\nofficials.<\/p>\n<p>He stated that this provision was agreed upon by the government and\nCommission XI of the House of Representatives (DPR) during discussions\non the proposed changes within the Working Committee (Panja). This legal\nprotection will be granted to the Board of Governors, officials, and\nemployees of Bank Indonesia while performing their duties.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe government and the DPR have also agreed on strengthening legal\nprotection for members of the Board of Governors, officials, and Bank\nIndonesia employees who carry out their duties in accordance with\nstatutory regulations and good ethics,\u201d Purbaya said in a meeting room\nof Commission XI of the DPR, Jakarta, on Wednesday (3\/6\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, Purbaya emphasised that an agreement was reached\nregarding the authority of the Bank Indonesia Board of Governors to\nrepresent Bank Indonesia both inside and outside of court, which may be\ndelegated to members of the Board of Governors and\/or Bank Indonesia\nofficials.<\/p>\n<p>The institutional refinement of Bank Indonesia also encompasses\nregulations regarding Board of Governors meetings, the governance\nmechanism for Board members, the appointment of substitute Board\nmembers, and the expansion of Bank Indonesia\u2019s duties in implementing\ncommunity education, empowerment, and environmental programmes.<\/p>\n<p>In terms of protocol and accountability, the government and the DPR\nhave agreed on regulations concerning Bank Indonesia\u2019s annual budget and\nits amendments, which require parliamentary approval, including the\nestablishment of annual budget standards for Bank Indonesia\u2019s\noperational activities.<\/p>",
