        "content": "<p>Bekasi, Kompas.com \u2013 Bekasi City Metro Police have revealed changes\nin the methods used for distributing illegal hard drugs in several areas\nof Bekasi City. Previously, perpetrators utilised shops and stores as\nstorage and transaction points, but now the approach has shifted to a\ncash on delivery (COD) system and the use of drop points for item\ncollection. \u201cThey approach customers or buyers directly, or vice versa.\nPerpetrators also frequently use the \u2018drop point\u2019 method, which is then\ncollected by the buyer,\u201d stated the Bekasi City Metro Police Chief,\nKusumo Wahyu Bintoro, during a press conference on Friday (17\/4\/2026).\n\u201cThere were 31 narcotics cases and 49 cases involving hard drugs or\ndangerous medicines,\u201d said Kusumo. During that period, police arrested\n98 perpetrators from various areas, including West Bekasi, East Bekasi,\nPondok Gede, Jatisampurna, and South Bekasi. From these case\nrevelations, police seized a large quantity of evidence. This included\n45,835.24 grams or approximately 45 kilograms of marijuana, 883.65 grams\nof sabu (methamphetamine), 71 ecstasy pills, and 759.55 grams of\nsynthetic tobacco. \u201cIn addition, police seized 271.68 hard drugs or\ndangerous medicines,\u201d said Kusumo. Kusumo claimed that the case\nrevelations have saved more than 62,000 lives from potential drug abuse.\n\u201cThis is our commitment; there is no compromise on narcotics and\ndangerous drugs. If there is information, please report it via the 110\ncall centre,\u201d he emphasised.
