Ikhdan Nizar, who was formerly chief of<br>\nthe company's general affairs department.<\/p>\n<p>Nizar was formally installed at the Semen Padang office in<br>\nJakarta on Friday, replacing Abubakar, Antara reported.<\/p>\n<p>The ceremony, witnessed by a number of shareholders, also saw<br>\nthe appointment of Brig. Gen. (ret.) Safroedin Bahar, formerly<br>\nassistant to the minister\/state secretary, as president<br>\ncommissioner. Safroedin replaced Effendi Sudarsono.<\/p>\n<p>Abubakar and Syahrul Ujud, a former Padang mayor and currently<br>\nassistant to the coordinating minister for people's welfare and<br>\npoverty eradication, were also installed as members of the board<br>\nof commissioners, the news agency said.<\/p>\n<p>Semen Padang runs a plant near the West Sumatra town of Padang<br>\nwith an annual capacity of 3.5 million metric tons and sells to<br>\ndomestic as well as foreign markets including Bangladesh, Taiwan,<br>\nJapan, Myanmar, Papua New Guinea and the Republic of Maldives.<br>\n(02)<\/p>",
