New Masyumi confusing<\/p>\n

The news reports on the new Masyumi, or Masyumi-Ridwan,
\npublished in the media are confusing and difficult to digest.<\/p>\n
First, I think the name of the new Masyumi was adopted from a
\npopular Islamic party that was banned in the 1960s because of its
\nassociation with some members of the armed forces. Clearly,
\nRidwan exploits it. So, the consideration in establishing a new
\norganization needs confidence.<\/p>\n
Second, Ridwan's statement was inaccurate and confusing. On
\none occasion he said that the new Masyumi will eventually become
\na political party, but on another he suggested that the
\nestablishment of the organization was to meet Moslem demand.<\/p>\n
Clearly his two statements contradict each other. He doesn't
\nwant the organization to be politically oriented. But the fact is
\nthat he tends to give political weight to Masyumi.<\/p>\n
